Back in Black beaten by Welcome to the Jungle. Do U Agree?

I just finished watching VH1 top 100 rock songs of all time. Back in Black came in at #2 which was cool. But they were beaten out by Guns n Roses Welcome to the Jungle. My bro said that in a way he agrees because that toon helped bring back rock in the 80's. Though I agree that this song deserves to be in the top 10, I don't agree to it being #1. Especially the idea of Guns n Roses beating out ACDC. What do you all think?

Welcome to the Jungle is good, but Back in Black is way better. the order of some of the other songs werent right either, like barracuda and hot for teacher. i tink hot for teacher is a much better song, and dirty deeds came in at like 30. ??? somethings wrong with that, but oh well. AC/DC is better than GNR and back in black should be #1.

hahahaa.. Guns to beat AC/DC ??
Who the fuck made this ranking?!
I think that in the top top 10 songs they're should be at least 7-8 AC/DC songs
Who won't agree with this?
And no doubt which is the best guitarist ever..ANGUS!!

He He that's probably true. Why would MTV or VH1 be any different from the gov't. Someone is paying someone to rank these tunes and it's not surprising that there is an agenda somewhere. I just had a lightbulb go off. We should come up with our own countdown. One that is made by real fans!

I can see what your brother means and I can see where he's coming from, but in all truth, when you want to think of a band that's been there for decades and are still tearing it up, you look at AC/DC. Van Halen didn't last this long. Nor Aerosmith or Journey or Queen or The Who or Deff Leppard. And not Guns N Roses and while some of them might've gotten back together in recent years, AC/DC has never broken up and has never shown any aim to. The only band I can truly think of that's stuck around for as long or longer is The Rolling Stones.

And while they're all great bands in their own way, AC/DC is the band that's been around since they started, pumping out album after album of high voltage rock n' roll. They're the ultimate middle finger towards society, the big fuck you. And in terms of coming out on top, Back in Black is a huge rock anthem (like For Those About to Rock), not Welcome to the Jungle.

So. Back in Black baby, all the way. \o/

Totally agree! Last night I went and saw Kiss. It was the 4th time. Last night was the first seeing em in full Kiss attire. It was fun but I have to admit it wasn't as electrifying as ACDC. I am constantly telling people I haven't recovered yet from see em in July. Which is yet another reason to wonder what these people putting together polls and countdowns like this are thinking. Or not thinking.

I so totally agree with you. After seeing them on July 31st, it was like my whole world changed. I've been a fan for many years, but something just exploded in me that night. It was the most amazing show I've seen in my life, no word of lie. Simply the greatest rock band ever!!

Ditto. I've always liked them but since July I haven't been the same. I am just so psyched up all the time. Either ACDC are gods or I need a life (lol)

Don't feel like that LadySwan, I listen to AC/DC at least three times a day everyday, and I never get sick of listening to the same song, its so electrifying! I've seen them live twice, and they are the best band I 've ever seen. I've gone to see the Rolling Stones, Guns N Roses, Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters, and AC/DC just kicks all their asses!!

well said Victoria, AC/DC have never broken up, they just play good time, no frills rock n roll for over 35 years.
GNR, there is no comparison of this band to the mighty AC/DC!!
